  • Master every turn with intuitive one-handed control

    Steering through the backrest allows easy one-handed control. One can push with the left hand, the right hand, or both – and still stay on course.

    With Steering-by-Leaning™ engaged, the chair’s direction comes from the backrest rather than which wheel is being pushed. This is critical for people with limited use of one arm (for example due to hemiplegia or during recovery after a shoulder injury).

    But it’s also practical for everyone else: it frees a hand to take a call on the go, carry a cup of coffee, hold an umbrella – or hold someone’s hand.

    In lab testing, some people used about half the energy to cover the same distance – and some were even faster at the same time.

    In conventional wheelchairs, direction is controlled by braking, adding real friction to movement. With a steering system, this is not needed. This means no more “working backwards” – and less forward propulsion is needed overall because less effort is wasted on constant corrections.
